These light butter cookies are a holiday classic in our house! Get out the cookie press and throw just a few ingredients together and you are left with these adorable, festive cookies.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • colored sprinkles for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Using a hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream butter and sugar.
  3. Add in egg and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
  4. Add in flour ½-1 cup at a time. Mix after each addition.
  5. Prepare cookie press, fitting it with your desired cookie shape.
  6. Add room temperature dough to cookie press and press cookies on to a non-greased cookie sheet.
  7. Top cookies with colored sprinkles.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until bottoms just begin to brown.
  9. Remove from oven and move cookies to a cooling rack.
