Equipment

  • measuring cups
  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • silicone spatula
  • food processor or rolling pin (for crushing the graham crackers)
  • trifle bowl

Ingredients

For the s'mores trifle

  • 2 boxes brownie mix (baked per package instructions)
  • 16 ounces frozen whipped topping (cool whip or store brand)
  • 1 can marshmallow fluff (7 ounces)
  • 2 packages graham crackers (16-20 sheets, coarsely crushed)

For the topping (optional)

  • ¼ cup mini marshmallows
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

To make the s'mores trifle elements

  • Bake 2 boxes of brownie mix per package instructions. Allow them to cool to room temperature.
  • Cut the brownies into 1-2 inch cubes, set aside.
  • In a large bowl, use a spatula to mix the whipped topping and marshmallow fluff. Set it aside.
  • Use a food processor to coarsely crush the graham crackers. You can also place the crackers in a gallon storage bag and crush them with a rolling pin.

To assemble the s'mores trifle

  • Add a layer of brownie pieces to the bottom of a trifle bowl. Ensure that the entire bottom is covered. NOTE: to use the entire 2 boxes of brownies, make this layer thick! At least 2 brownies on top of each other.
  • Next, add a layer of the marshmallow cream (~1-inch thick).
  • Then add a layer of crushed graham crackers on top of the cream. Repeat these steps a few times, ending on the marshmallow cream layer (also reserving some of the graham crackers and brownie bits for topping).
  • Top the trifle with leftover graham crackers, brownie bits, mini marshmallows and/or chocolate chips.
