This edible monster cookie dough is packed with rolled oats, peanut butter, chocolate chips and m&m’s! It’s perfect to roll and cover in chocolate, to use as a dip for apples, pretzels or graham crackers or to just eat with a spoon.

Quick Tips

  • Use creamy peanut butter for this recipe (I recommend Jif brand). Using a natural peanut butter will work as well, but the final texture will vary from what you see in the photos below
  • Use rolled oats for a thicker texture. Quick oats can also be used in a 1:1 substitution (it will just make the final texture slightly less dense)
  • Use this edible cookie dough as a dip for pretzels, fruit or crackers! You can also roll the dough into 1-2 inch balls and coat them in chocolate to make truffles, or of course, just eat it with a spoon
  • Use mini m&m’s and mini chocolate chips if desired, especially if you plan on rolling them into balls and covering them with chocolate

Equipment

Not a lot is needed to make this delicious edible monster cookie dough. Using a stand or hand mixer is recommended to mix the ingredients thoroughly.

  • Hand or stand mixer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Silicone spatula
  • Kitchen scale (optional)

Ingredient Notes

  • Creamy peanut butter: Jif brand is recommended. Natural creamy peanut butters will work as well, but final texture of the cookie dough will vary
  • Unsalted butter: salted butter is OK too, just decrease added salt by 1/8 of a teaspoon
  • Light brown sugar: dark brown sugar can be substituted
  • Vanilla extract
  • Salt
  • Milk: any kind of milk is OK (I use 2%)
  • Rolled oats: also known as old fashioned oats. Quick oats can be substituted, but will lead to a less dense texture
  • Chocolate chips: semi-sweet chocolate chips recommended, but any type of chocolate is OK. Also try using mini chocolate chips if desired
  • M&M’s: milk chocolate m&m’s are recommended, but any flavor is OK
