How to make this Skillet Brownie and Chocolate Chip Cookie
This skillet brookie is very easy to make! It just involves separately making chocolate chip cookie dough and brownie batter, then spooning them into a cast iron skillet and baking!
How to make the chocolate chip cookie dough
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Use the convection bake setting if you have it. Grease a 11-13″ skillet with baking spray and set it aside.
In a medium-large sized mixing bowl, use a hand or stand mixer to cream together the butter and brown sugar.
Add the milk, vanilla extract and egg. Mix until combined. Scrape down the bowl, then add the salt and baking soda, then mix again until combined.
Add the flour, then mix until combined. Scrape down the bowl once complete.
Finally, fold in ¾ cup of the chocolate chips, reserving ¼ cup for topping the skillet brookie.
Set the dough aside while you make the brownie batter.
How to make the brownie batter
Place the butter in a medium-sized microwave safe bowl and heat it until melted.
Add sugar and use a hand or stand mixer to mix well (for about a minute).
Next, add the melted chocolate, vanilla extract and salt. Mix until combined. Scrape down the bowl.
Add the eggs and mix until combined, then add the flour and cocoa powder and mix again. Scrape the bowl down once complete.
How to assemble and bake the skillet brookie
Use a spoon or a cookie scoop to scoop the cookie dough throughout the greased skillet. Press the dough down.

Use a spoon or a cookie scoop to spoon brownie batter around the cookie dough, filling any empty spaces in the skillet.
Use a spatula or butter knife to even out the brownie batter.

Top the dough with the reserved chocolate chips and bake.
Bake for 32-37 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with just a few wet crumbs on it (not raw dough or batter).
